As per the presentation referenced above, these are the areas with the larges projected enrollment growth:

I have also included a chart which further documents the enrollment and capacity of each middle school and high school within the school district (as determined by MGT Consulting).  As the chart illustrates, there is a tremendous seat availability in Regions 4 and 5.

DCSD has yet to release the Facility Condition Assessment reports....waiting....

  1. I have not had time to go back and research the earlier projected enrollments for McNair MS, MLK HS, SW DeKalb HS or Miller Grove HS that brought about the need for additional seating at these schools (via SPLOST IV), but I plan to do so. How does DCSD end up with so many under-capacity schools???

  2. Thanks! I wonder who represented Region 4 when those decisions were made?

  3. I believe that the BOE Rep at that time was Jay Cunningham.

  4. How can it be that Dunwoody High School has 192 open seats yet has 4 trailers?

  5. Dunwoody doesn't have 192 Open Seats - the school is over-capacity by 192 seats.

  6. How can Peachtree Middle have 12 trailers now and only be over capacity by 166 students? I think there are about 27 students per trailer. Seems like the capacity is wrong. (There will be 16 trailers for fall. )
